The 2022 (A) AFL Women’s Grand Final was an Australian rules football game played on April 9 at the Adelaide Oval to decide the league’s champion teams for the sixth season.

The Adelaide Football Club and the Melbourne Football Club squared off in the game.

It was the first time the two teams had faced off in a grand final; Adelaide had won two previous championships and was playing in their fourth grand final, while Melbourne was attempting to win the first-ever senior women’s championship.

Who won the AFLW grand final?

Adelaide won the game by a score of 13 to win their third championship. With 26 touches, nine marks, and six tackles, Adelaide’s Anne Hatchard won the finest on-field honour.

With nine wins, one loss, and the highest percentage in the league (216.6 per cent), Adelaide, also known as the Crows, finished the 10-game regular season in the first place.

Their lone loss came in round six at Norwood Oval against the Western Bulldogs, who finished outside the top six and didn’t go to the finals series, by a score of 1.

Due to their performance, they were awarded their second minor championship and a home preliminary final matchup against Fremantle, who had defeated North Melbourne by 38 points in the first qualifying final, on the first weekend of April.
