Blakeley was born on June 26, 1993, in Basingstoke, Hampshire (age 28). On her father’s side, she is half Welsh. She was educated privately at Lord Wandsworth College and later at Farnborough Sixth Form College.
She received a first-class honors degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from St Peter’s College, Oxford. Blakeley went on to earn a master’s degree in African Studies from St Antony’s College, Oxford.
She began her career as a management consultant for KPMG in their Public Sector and Healthcare Practice division after graduating.
Blakeley then spent a year as a research fellow at Manchester’s Institute for Public Policy Research, a left-wing think tank specializing in regional economic policy.
Blakeley considers himself a democratic socialist and favors capital controls. In January 2020, Blakeley joined the staff of the democratic socialist magazine Tribune.
