Hana Zagorová, a Czech singer-songwriter, actor, and presenter who began recording music in 1964, lived from September 6, 1946, to August 26, 2022. She is regarded as one of the best-known vocalists from the Czech Republic. She received nine(9) national Zlat slavk music awards between 1977 and 1985, which is the second-highest total in the award’s history, behind only Lucie Blá, who received thirteen esk slavk awards.
In the 1963 singing competition Hledáme nové talenty (Seeking New Talent), where she was accompanied by the Gustav Brom orchestra, Zagorová initially garnered prominence. At the Janáek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, she studied acting from 1964 to 1968 before receiving her degree.
She released “Pr jsem zraná” (They Say I’m Debauched), her debut hit, in 1968. She started performing with the band Flamingo and appearing on television in the latter half of the 1960s.
She began working with the Václav Zahradnk Orchestra, with whom she recorded her debut album Bludika, and she sang in the group Sodoma-Gomorrah (Zagorová, Ji tdro, and Viktor Sodoma) (1970). “Bludika Julie,” one of her best singles, was included on the album.
