Born on January 17, 1949, Michael Kevin Taylor, an English musician better known by his stage name Mick Taylor, is best known for his time spent as a member of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (1967–69) and the Rolling Stones (1969–74).

He was born to a working-class family in Welwyn Garden City but raised in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England, where his father worked as a fitter for the De Havilland aircraft company.

Since he parted ways with the Rolling Stones in December 1974, Taylor has worked with a wide range of other musicians and made a number of solo albums.

He took part in the Stones’ 50 “AND” Counting tour, which began in November 2012 and ran through the band’s 50th-anniversary performances in London and Newark, as well as visits in North America, the Glastonbury Festival, and Hyde Park in 2013.

He was ranked number 37 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the top 100 guitarists of all time in 2011.

Slash, the guitarist for Guns N’ Roses, claims that Taylor was his major influence.
