Alongside fellow South African DJ Black Coffee, DJ Maphorisa received several honors, including the Best International Act Award at the 2017 BET Awards. DJ Maphorisa has engaged in a number of charitable endeavors outside of his music profession, such as a campaign to spread knowledge about the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa.
