Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus (born December 14, 1991), is an American rapper. Offset became well-known as a member of the rap group Migos, which also included his cousin Quavo and Quavo’s nephew Takeoff. 2017 saw Offset, 21 Savage, and music producer Metro Boomin release their joint album Without Warning. The single “Ric Flair Drip” from the album peaked in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Offset appeared as a backup dancer in Whitney Houston’s 2002 video for Whatchulookinat. At the time, he was nine years old.
Migos members were raised middle-class in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff formed Migos in 2008. Offset is Quavo’s cousin, and Takeoff is Quavo’s uncle. They grew up together in Gwinnett County, which is mostly suburban near Atlanta. After their 2013 single “Versace” was released, Migos first became well-known. The group released its first studio album, Yung Rich Nation, in 2015. With the lyrics “rain drop, drop top,” which were sung by Offset, their song “Bad and Boujee” became an Internet sensation in 2017. Many critics felt Offset controlled the song, which reached the top spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Culture, the group’s second studio album, debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart in 2017.
