Wilson grew up in the Parramatta, Kenthurst, and Castle Hill neighborhoods of Sydney. She boarded at the independent Tara Anglican School for Girls.
After graduating from the Australian Theatre for Young People in 2003, Wilson took on the role of Toula in the SBS comedy series Pizza (2003–2007, 2019). Wilson later made an appearance on the comedy sketch show The Wedge (2006–2007).
She was the director, producer, and star of the musical comedy Bogan Pride (2008). Soon after arriving in the country, Wilson appeared in the comedies Bridesmaids and A Few Best Men 2011.
