Rhys Darby was raised in the Pakuranga suburb and was born on March 21, 1974. Rhys Darby is a well-known actor and comedian from New Zealand who tells stories while using mime and sound effects of various objects, including machinery and animals.

He was an Edgewater College student. Rhys Darby left the New Zealand Army in 1994 and enrolled at the University of Canterbury to pursue his studies. Most people know Rhys Darby from his role as Murray Hewitt. Rhys Darby was a nominee for the Billy T Award in 2001 and 2002.

Rhys won the Fred Dagg prize for best New Zealand show in 2012 at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. In 2004, comedians Rob Brydon, Andy Parsons, and Jimmy Carr appeared with Rhys Darby as the band’s manager Brian Nesbit in the Flight of the Conchords BBC radio series. Rhys Darby is married with two kids and resides in Los Angeles, California, with his family.
