Jakub Zboil, who was born on February 21, 1997, in Brno, Czech Republic, is known to be a professional ice hockey defenseman from the Czech Republic.
He is presently a member of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was taken by the Bruins in the first round, 13th overall, at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
The Saint John Sea Dogs selected Zboil in the first round, fifth overall, of the 2014 CHL Import Draft. He was chosen to the 2014–15 QMJHL All–Rookie Team in recognition of his excellent play with the Sea Dogs during the 2014–15 campaign.
Zboil was regarded as a top prospect and was expected to be selected in the first round, prior to the 2015 NHL Entry Draft on June 26, 2015.
The Boston Bruins finally selected him with the 13th overall pick, which they received from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Milan Lucic. He was one of the Bruins’ three first-round picks in a row, the other two are Jake DeBrusk (14th overall) and Zachary Senyshyn (15th overall).
