Jemma’s resilience extended to her responsibilities as a devoted wife to Clive, whom she married in 2018, and a loving mother of three. She received her diagnosis in 2016, while expecting her second child, and managed therapy throughout her pregnancy and delivery, displaying her tenacity.
When she was 35 weeks pregnant and found a lump in January 2021, her cancer had advanced. Even when she accepted the fact that her illness was terminal, her resolve remained unwavering. The sombre announcement that there were no further therapeutic possibilities in the UK was made by May 2021.
