Singer Jessie J is from England and was born and reared in London, where at age 11 she made her stage debut in Whisper Down the Wind on the West End. Before signing with Gut Records and securing a songwriting agreement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, she attended the BRIT School.

Jessie J rose to fame after the release of her breakthrough single, “Do It Like a Dude,” which was made possible by her contract with Republic Records. Before she released her debut album, Who You Are (2011), which peaked at number two in the UK, her subsequent single, “Price Tag,” reached the top of the charts in 19 countries, including the UK.

She launched her third album, Sweet Talker, prior to the single “Bang Bang,” which debuted at number one in the UK and became multi-platinum internationally (2014). Her highest-charting album in the States debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200 after reaching its peak at number five in the UK. More than 20 million singles and 3 million albums had been sold by Jessie J as of January 2015.
