Kayla Banwarth is a former American indoor volleyball player who was born on January 21, 1989. She is also a former member of the United States women’s national volleyball team, a participant in the 2016 Summer Olympics, a winner of a bronze medal at both the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2015 World Cup, and a winner of a gold medal at the 2014 World Championship. Banwarth holds a gold medal from the 2014 World Championship. She now serves as the head coach of the women’s volleyball team at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
Banwarth was a member of the United States national team that triumphed against China in the championship game of the 2014 World Championship by earning a 3–1 victory over the Chinese squad. After competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Banwarth decided to call it quits and instead began working as an assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team at her alma mater, the University of Nebraska.
