Keith Olbermann took a dig at Aaron Rodgers following the New York Jets star’s early exit during his team debut in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

Olbermann seized the opportunity to criticize Rodgers for not getting vaccinated against COVID-19, using his injury to make a point. He tweeted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, along with six syringe emojis, “Another #SuddenLisfranc due to failure to vaccinate.”

Rodgers had been vocal in his opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and had recently poked fun at the Moderna vaccine while attending the US Open to watch Novak Djokovic play.

In the Monday night game, Rodgers’ debut with the Jets was cut short after just three minutes when he sustained an injury during the first drive. It appeared that Rodgers may have injured his ankle when he was sacked by Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd. Despite attempting to shake it off initially, Rodgers had to be assisted off the field.

The ESPN broadcast captured footage of Rodgers being taken away on a cart and then walking toward the locker room with a noticeable limp. He was later seen wearing a boot.

Before the injury, Rodgers had completed 0 of 1 passes.

The extent of Rodgers’ injury was uncertain at the time of the report.

For Rodgers, this was his first game with the Jets. He had made his preseason debut in the final week against the New York Giants, during which he threw a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. When asked about his feelings before the game, Rodgers admitted to having some butterflies but expressed excitement about playing in front of the crowd. He jokingly added, “A lot of tears, a lot of sobbing, probably.”
