Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Year.

This season has been De Bruyne’s most productive in the Premier League, as he has scored 15 goals and contributed seven assists.
This award was originally given to the Belgian in the year 2020, while Mohamed Salah received it in 2018. It is the third year in a row that a player from City has received this honor; last year’s recipient was defender Ruben Dias.

On the list of eight players who are still in contention for the Golden Boot, both Mohamed Salah and Heung-Min Son were included. However, the Liverpool forward presently leads Tottenham’s South Korean player by one goal for the accolade.

This award’s star-studded list of nominees concluded with Jarrod Bowen, Bukayo Saka, and James Ward-Prowse. Joao Cancelo and Trent Alexander-Arnold were also picked to represent the championship squads as fullbacks.

A mix of votes from the general public on the Premier League website, votes from the 20 club captains in the Premier League, and votes from a panel of football experts determined the winner.

De Bruyne’s four-goal effort against Wolves earlier this month may have swung the scales in his favor. The projected number of goals for City’s seven first-half shots at Molineux was only 0.52. In other words, attempts from these places would result in a goal roughly every other game. In the first twenty-four minutes of play, De Bruyne scored three goals. Guardiola made the following comment after the game: “Kevin has always had the ability to create unique products.

“We always encourage him by reminding him that he is a great player who is very giving with assists, but that he needs to score goals, and that this season has been his most productive since we’ve been working with him.

We had a chat with him about sprinting into the box and being closer to the box, and throughout the course of this season, he has become increasingly adept at both.
