In 2022, Magnussen and Haas came to an agreement on a contract that covered multiple years. His father is the legendary racer Jan Magnussen, a four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a former Formula One competitor.
Kevin Magnussen joined Renault in 2016 after rising through the ranks of the Young Driver Program for the McLaren Formula One team. Magnussen drove for McLaren in the 2014 Formula One World Championship before moving on to Renault in 2016.
