After RNK Split was demoted in May 2017, Jaki was transferred to Lokomotiva. Boidar iki, the club’s director of football, granted Jaki’s request for a loan to Istra 1961 after he struggled during his first half-season with the team.
He played in Pula for the second half of the 2017–2018 campaign, when he found his form again with the help of Istra coach Darko Rai-Sudar. At the conclusion of the season, he returned to Lokomotiva, where he developed into one of the greatest players under head coach Goran Tomi.
Dinamo Zagreb paid Kristijan Jaki, €1.2 million to join them on July 24, 2020, after being impressed by his work for Lokomotiva.
