She was born Lamisi Awiniman Anabilla Akuka but goes by the name Lamisi professionally.

Lamisi Early Life and Education
Lamisi began school at the Saint Peters Methodist School in Ashaiman Accra. She then proceeded to the Ashaiman Senior High School.
She had her tertiary education at the University of Professional Studies where she pursued a degree in Marketing and then proceeded to the University of Ghana where she had her Master of Philosophy in Dance Education.
Lamisi Career
Lamisi was inspired by the likes of Angelique Kidjo, Chaka Khan, Miriam Makeba, Aretha Franklin among others to do music as a child.
She joined the Patch Bay Band and became their lead singer. The band has travelled across the length and breadth of the country performing everywhere.
She pursued a solo career and released her debut single “Tanka Fanka”. She then proceeded to release the singles “Mr. Strawberry” and “Kuul Runnings”. She calls her genre “Afro Fusion Pop”.
Lamisi has worked with the likes of Rocky Dawuni, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Samini, Amandzeba, Becca , Patoranking and many others.
She was featured on the First Reggae/Dancehall Compilation in Ghana by Irie Ites Studios in 2016.
