Posada started his baseball career as a bike. At the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean Games, he competed for Cuba in cycling.

The Milwaukee Braves inked Baseball Posada as an amateur free agent in 1954. He was chosen in the minor league draft by the Kansas City Athletics in 1956 from the Braves.

From 1960 to 1962, Posada was an athlete in the Athletics.

He was given to the Braves by the Athletics in exchange for Orlando Pea on August 3, 1962, along with Dale Willis and Bill Kunkel. Up until 1969, Posada kept on playing in the minor leagues.

Posada managed the Florida State League’s Class A Fort Lauderdale Yankees in 1975.
