Jordan was born and raised in Tennessee as a Southern Baptist. He moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and began to amass credits a few years later. Beginning in his twenties, he suffered from drug and alcohol addiction. Jordan declared that he has been clean for 13 years in 2010.

Leslie Jordan died at about 9:30 a.m. on October 24, 2022.

According to Jordan’s agent, David Shaul, the lack of Leslie Jordan’s love and light has surely made the world a much darker place. He was not only a tremendous talent and a joy to work with, but he also provided an emotional refuge for the country through one of its most challenging times.

Jordan’s greatness as a son, brother, artist, humorist, partner, and human being more than compensated for his little size. The only solace one can have right now is knowing that he left this world at the height of both his professional and personal lives.
