In 2007, Lucas Paquetá, just 10 years old, enrolled in Flamengo. Even though he was only 15 years old and only 5 feet tall, he was technically proficient but lacked the physical prowess of other players his age. But by the time he was 18, he had gained 27 cm (10.6 inches).
With the Flamengo young team, he won the 2016 Copa So Paulo de Juniors, the most significant youth competition in Brazil. Following the contest, Lucas was promoted to the club’s professional team together with other outstanding athletes Léo Duarte, Felipe Vizeu, and Ronaldo.
