Welsh racing cyclist Luke Rowe, who was born on March 10, 1990, competes for the UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers.

Rowe, a Cardiff native, started racing at an early age, originally travelling on a tandem with his parents.

He developed a love for cycling and joined the Maindy Flyers, a group headquartered at Maindy Centre.

His father, Courtney Rowe, coached the Paralympian Simon Richardson, and his brothers Matthew Rowe and Dani Rowe both participated professionally.

He was a junior member of British Cycling’s Olympic Development Program. At the 2007 UEC European Track Championships, Rowe competed for the first time in Europe as a member of the team pursuit squad that won the gold medal.

In addition to winning the Madison alongside Mark Christian and taking home silver in the team pursuit at the 2008 European Track Championships, he was second in the European Road Race Championships.
