Mamukkoya, who was born on 5 July 1946, was a talented Indian actor, who has worked in the Malayalam film industry, for so many years.
Mamukkoya started his professional acting career in theater. Anyarude Bhoomi gave him an opportunity to work in the film industry, back in 1979.
His second introduction to Malayalam cinema was Surumaitta Kannukal by S. Konnanatt. However, after his previous movie, he met Sathyan Anthikkad, which Is due to the influence of an actor and screenwriter, known as Sreenivasan.
In Gandhinagar Second Street, he was cast in a role, and he carved out a niche for himself in Malayalam cinema with his depiction of Gafoor in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Mohanlal-Sreenivasan-starrer Nadodikkattu (1987). In Kerala, the figure of Gafoor developed a huge fan following, and later on, a cartoon series based on this character was released.
