American professional basketball player William Felton Russell’s third wife was Marilyn Nault. On January 15, 1950, Marilyn Nault Russell was born in Concordia, Kansas. She was over sixteen years Russell’s junior as a result. In Seattle, where she was employed as a jewelry salesperson, she met Russell. Days after the NBA icon turned 66, the two eventually got married. Until Nault’s sad death in 2009, the two traveled regularly and lived together. The couple had celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary and Russell’s birthday just a few weeks before Marilyn’s death from cancer.
