Many Ghanaians have been looking for the meaning of ‘Pretty Damsel’ as used by R2bees thus Celebritiesbuzz.com.gh has worked on the true meaning of these words and how it works in the context that it was used in.

As we all may know, Ghanaian musicians and most rappers are fond of using words that sometimes beat our understanding although we still enjoy the music.

Musicians and rappers like M.anifest, Joey B, EL, Reggie Rockstone, D’Black and R2bees have continued to serve us with ‘big’ grammar and superfluous English.

In R2bees song titled ‘Over,’ Paedae, as he was rapping said used the words ‘Pretty Damsel’ which actually was hard for many to understand.

To start with, pretty in this context is used to describe a woman or a child who is extremely attractive and reflects beauty.

Damsel, on the other hand, refers to a young unmarried woman.

Therefore, a ‘Pretty Damsel’ basically refers to an attractive and beautiful woman, who is young and unmarried.

Well, a further check on the words gives the meaning:

A young, unmarried woman is a damsel. If you’ve ever seen a young girl being chased by a rabid dog, then you’ve witnessed a damsel in distress! The word damsel is a shortened version of the French word, mademoiselle, which is what the French call a young woman who is not married — like the word miss in English.
