On his way to becoming the best amateur bantamweight in the world, he won gold at the 2015 World Championships and bronze at the 2012 Olympics.
He was regarded as one of Ireland’s best amateur fighters. He had reservations about participating in amateur sports before turning pro in 2016 and competing for the first time in 2017.
After dating for about ten years, Michael Conlan and his longtime love Shauna Olali are now engaged. Shauna was working as a legal secretary when Michael proposed to the couple and they got engaged in 2015.
Back in July 2015, the Belfast native proposed holding their infant daughter in the cutest way possible while getting down on one knee.
On top of his daughter, who was sitting in a baby chair, Michael placed a piece of paper with the words “Mummy will you marry my Daddy: please!” written on it.
