Also, Mills Lane was a two-term District court judge at Washoe County in Nevada as a television personality. Mills Lane as a boxer was in the welterweight division and has a record of 11 fights, 10 wins of which 6 of them were technical knockouts and 1 loss.

Mills Lane after his boxing came to an end ventured into boxing refereeing where he first handles his first world championship boxing match in 1971. Mills Lane was known to have officiated bouts between Mike Tyson versus Evander Holyfield in a world heavyweight championship.
Lane was married to Kaye and they had two sons.

Former professional boxer Mills Lane passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 85. According to many sources, Mills Lane’s cause is said to be complications of a stroke that he suffered for about 20 years.
