Officers were called to the residence in the 7300 block of Indiana Avenue at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday in response to a reported disturbance. Shockingly, they discovered a deceased body of a child and a woman who was singing.

Tasha Haefs murdered her son, Karvel Stevens, whose photos are unavailable because of graphic content. On Tuesday, officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 7300 block of Indiana Avenue.

They said that the caller sounded like a lady and informed a police call taker that the devil was attempting to harm her. When they went in, they found blood near the front entrance.

And they claimed that they could hear a lady singing inside the house, and she continued to sing louder when they knocked on the door. Finally, one of the cops was able to see inside and saw a severed head.

As a result, they forced their way in through the kitchen door and found Tasha covered in blood. In the next room, they discovered the dead body of a young kid, and a decapitated dog was found in the basement.

According to the Kansas City News, the six-year-old Karvel Stevens was identified as the victim on Thursday.

She admitted killing and decapitating him in a bathtub. Many people, including Mayor Quinton Lucas, have been horrified by the incident, writes KSHB. He tweeted that he hopes that justice would be served and such tragedies could be avoided in the future.

Likewise, Prosecutor Attorney Jean Peters Baker stated that it is an unimaginable pain for the boy’s family, community, friends, and the first responders who went to the crime scene. She vowed to bring justice to the child.

Tasha Haefs has been arrested, and her mugshots are circulating on Reddit. She was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Jackson County Circuit Court On Wednesday.

Baker is asking every community to help reduce the violence and alert the mental health professional if they feel there is a need for intervention.
