The first pupil of the Grim Reaper. Due to the downturn in the reaping industry brought on by modern medicine, Calliope made the decision to switch to harvesting souls as a VTuber.
It appears that she also receives the ascending souls of those who are killed by the positive relationships amongst VTubers.
But despite the impression her aggressive voice and speaking pattern give off, she is a kind-hearted girl who values her friendship tremendously.

Even more than Nekomata Okayu, Tokoyami Towa, and A-chan, Calliope is known for having one of the lowest pitched voices in Hololive. Calliope speaks English well, although she frequently has trouble understanding modern discourse.
Following the popularity of the Japanese-language hololive VTuber group, Cover Corporation held tryouts for members who could speak English on April 23, 2020.
The initial round of interviews lasted till May 24.
