Muddy Waters was born on April 4, 1913, in Mississippi, United States. He was an American blues singer-songwriter and musician who was a key figure in the postwar blues movement and is generally referred to as the “father of modern Chicago blues.” His grandma, Della Grant, took care of him after his mom passed away….

Muddy Waters was born on April 4, 1913, in Mississippi, United States. He was an American blues singer-songwriter and musician who was a key figure in the postwar blues movement and is generally referred to as the “father of modern Chicago blues.”

His grandma, Della Grant, took care of him after his mom passed away. She names him “Muddy”. Muddy Waters died of heart failure in his sleep at his home in Westmont, as a result of cancer-related problems.

He was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was pronounced dead at the age of 70. On May 4, 1983, he was laid to rest.

His funeral was attended by a large crowd of blues performers and fans at Restvale Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.

Bertha Jones and Ollie Morganfield are the parents of Waters. They are both late.

Waters had 6 youngsters. His children, Larry “Mud” Morganfield and Big Bill Morganfield are additionally blues artists and performers. In 2017 his most youthful child, Joseph Morganfield, started openly playing out the blues.

Joseph was known to play once in a while with his siblings. Magic passed on in 2020 at 56 years old.
