Before the 2020 December 7th elections, fire gutted hundreds of stalls at the Odawna Market at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

Soon after the fire, president Nana Addo paid visit to the victims after which he ordered that a compensation should be given to the affected people.

Well, just yesterday, some parts of Kantamanto also in Accra was gutted by fire destroying scores of shops.

Though there were no casualties, property and goods running into hundreds of thousands of cedis have been lost as the fire razed many shops.

Well, it is expected that the affected people should receive some sort of compensation but up to now, nothing has been said about that.
