Nancy Pelosi was born to Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. and Annunciata M. “Nancy” D’Alesandro.She was the seventh of her parents’ seven children. He later became Mayor of Baltimore.

Thomas D’Alesandro III, her older brother, was also involved in politics and served as Mayor of Baltimore from 1967 to 1971.

Nancy Pelosi graduated from Notre Dame Institute in 1958 and received a bachelor’s degree in political studies in 1962.

Nancy got involved in politics at a young age and helped her father run the campaign.

 

Pelosi entered politics when she was a young woman. She supported her father’s political efforts. She attended John F. Kennedy’s inaugural speech in January 1961, when he was sworn in as president.

In 1958, Pelosi graduated from Baltimore’s Institute of Notre Dame, a catholic high school that only accepted female students. In 1962, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Trinity College in Washington, D.C.
