Born in the United States on January 11, 1946, Naomi Judd passed away on April 30, 2022. The Judds, a country music group that went on to win nine Country Music Association awards and five Grammys, was founded in 1983 by Naomi Judd and her daughter Wynonna. The Judds were forced to stop their travels when Naomi was diagnosed with hepatitis in 1991.

However, Wynonna continued to tour as a solo artist and occasionally performed with her mother as The Judds. Naomi spent her entire life dealing with mental health problems. Judds passed away on April 30, 2022, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the day before she and Wynonna were honored with Country Music Hall of Fame inductions.

Together with her daughter Wynonna, Naomi Judd established the extremely successful singing group known as the Judds. With twenty top 10 hits, including fifteen number ones, and an eight-year winning streak at each of the three major country music awards events, they are the most well-known mother-daughter team in the genre.
