Nigerian author, Reno Omokri, has taken to his Twitter handle to share his usual nuggets with his followers opining that once a man marries a woman, she becomes his equal and not his subject.
The bible says in Ephesians 5:23 that “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
A lot of people have been misinterpreting this scripture as if the woman is a slave to the man.
So Reno Omokri seeks to clarify that even if the man is the head of the house, it doesn’t make the woman inferior to him.
He tweeted:
“Dear men, Once you marry a woman, she becomes your equal, not your subject. You are the head. But that does not make her lower than you. It just means that you, as husband, are the first between equals. Your wife belongs beside you, not behind you”
