One coronavirus patient escapes from quarantine facility at Tamale

Citinews reports that one of the eight (8) Guineans who recently tested positive for the deadly coronavirus has escaped from the facility in which they are being quarantined in Tamale.

According to the information revealed by the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, the patient who is a woman and in her early 20s went missing upon their check.

She is said to have jumped over a wall leaving behind her belongings on Monday and escaped to town.

Speaking to the media, the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed said:

“It is a very disturbing situation because she is positive

“Since yesterday, up till this morning, I have not slept, with my security people. I directed that they should use all their networks to be able to track the persona down and get her.”

The lady managed to escape from two police and two soldiers who were in charge of their security in the guest house in which they were being kept.

The Minister was quick to add that, the natives of Tamale are calm.

Currently, Ghana’s coronavirus cases has shot up.
