Paula Rego was born on January 26, 1935, in Lisbon, Portugal.

She is known to have studied at Slade School of Fine Art, and the University College of London respectively.

She was an ardent exhibition member of the London art group along with David Hockney and Frank Auerbach.

According to the reports before her death she was known to be the First Artist in residence at the National Gallery in London.

Her father was an electrical engineer whiles her mom was an exceptional artist whom we could say she inherited such a trait from.
