Peter John Kay is an English actor, author, comedy writer and stand-up comedian who was born on 2 July 1973 in Bolton, Lancaster in England. He began as a part-time stand-up comedian of which he won the North West Comedian of the Year award.
Some of his notable works include That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere and Peter Kay’s Car Share. He has won many awards to his credit including BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, National Television Award for Best Comedy, among others. In 2016, the University of Salford gave him an honorary doctorate.
In 2001, Peter Kay got married to Susan Gargan, and they have four children including Charlie Michael Kay.
