The Inspector General of Police , James Oppong-Boanuh disclosed on Wednesday that not less the 62,794 security personnels will be deployed to guard the December Election while Patrol and standby forces will be available for backup when the need arises.
Addressing journalists in a news conference about their readiness ahead of the election, He confirmed it will be a joint service between all the security agencies in the country which includes the police themselves, immigration service, prisons service,Fire service, customs division as well as the Ghana armed forces.
He further explained that all the above mentioned service personnels will be in their normal uniform except those from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Bureau of National Investigation, saying these two will remain Invincible.
He continued by saying there will be no motorbikes allowed 100 meters from the polling station and this is to avoid ballot snatching. because the security agencies are going to do everything possible to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
