Pratap Pothen Children: Keya Pothen

An Indian actor and director, Pratap Pothen (13 August 1952 – 15 July 2022) appeared in around 100 films and also directed 12.

Pratap Pothen made appearances in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films.

Kolathinkal Pothan, Pothen’s businessman father, passed away when Pratap was only 15 years old.

Pratap had a total of five siblings, including an older brother named Hari Pothan who was also a movie producer.

Prathap attended the Lawrence School, Lovedale in Ooty for his education.

Pratap Pothen had a passion for painting at first, but after enrolling in college, he began performing in plays with the aid of his friends and gradually developed a greater interest in acting than in painting.

Following his graduation from the Madras Christian College, Prathap worked as a copywriter in a Mumbai advertising business. Later, he also held positions with Hindustan Thomson and Sistas Ad Agency.

Pratap Pothen was born to businessman father Kulathunkal Pothen and homemaker mother Ponnamma Pothen. He had a film producer’s older brother named Hari Pothan.

Actress Raadhika and Pratap Pothen wed in 1985, and they later separated in 1986.

In 1990, Pratap Pothen remarried Amala Satyanath, who he later divorced in 2012.
