According to party sources, the former member was admitted to a hospital while driving to Thiruvananthapuram after feeling uneasy.
Prayar Gopalakrishnan served as president of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), the state’s supreme temple body. For a long time, he was also the chairman of Milma, a state-run milk cooperative society.
Meanwhile, political figures such as Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala expressed their sorrow over Prayar Gopalakrishnan’s death.
Prayar Gopalakrishnan had led Milma and the TDB, Pinarayi Vijayan said in his condolence letter. “ He was a great country asset who needed protection and his death with be a great loss to the country and his people”.
