Through donations from Ray Kruck and Jennifer Vancini, two entrance prizes of $10,000 each have been made available annually to support deserving candidates wishing to pursue careers in sustainability and climate action upon entering the Master of Business Administration program.

Candidates must show via their prior work experience, their dedication to responsible leadership and community involvement, and their future professional goals that they are committed to solving the climate issue.

Entrepreneurs Ray Kruck (MBA 1992) and Jennifer Vancini (MBA 1993) have maintained a close relationship with UBC since graduation, volunteering their time to the Sauder School of Business at UBC while residing in San Francisco, particularly in initiatives like the Creative Destructive Lab – Vancouver. Jennifer is a General Partner at Mighty Capital, while Ray is the CE0 and Founder of Tugboat Logic.

Ray and Jennifer founded this prize to aid future MBA students further their studies and supporting UBC Sauder School of Business in attracting a diverse set of leaders who will positively impact the globe. The UBC Sauder School of Business Admissions Committee recommends making the awards.

The amount given to successful candidates of the Ray Kruck & Jennifer MBA Scholarship at UBC School of Business is $10,000. This amount can cover some school expenses like tuition,

Deadline to apply

  • March 12, 2024, is the deadline for candidates from outside the United States
  • May 7, 2024, is the deadline for individuals seeking permanent residence and Canadian citizens.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Course(s) or Subjects Eligible

Students may apply to the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business MBA program.

  • Qualifications

The applicants must fulfill each of the requirements that follow to be eligible.

  • The candidates must exhibit a strong desire to support women in corporate leadership roles and a passion for attaining gender balance.

Required Documents

The university requires the following documents to be presented by the students:

  • Transcripts from academic institutions
  • Degree certification interpretation
  • GRE and GMAT

The candidates must possess a 550/155 GMAT/GRE score, a three- or four-year Bachelor’s degree with a B+ average, or a recognized equivalent from an established institution.
