Robert Gabriel Helenius is a Swedish-Finnish professional boxer, he was born on 2 January 1984. He has hold a number of heavyweight titles, and it’s at the regional level, he won the European crown between 2011 and 2016 twice. At the 2006 European Championships, he took home a silver medal, when he was an amateur. Robert Gabriel defeated Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter, and Siarhei Liakhovich.

When Helenius was 5years old , He started boxing training with his father. One of Helenius’ first training and sparring partners in early 2000, was Tony Halme. Helenius lost to Croatian Mario Preskar for the bronze medal at the 2000 European “cadets” (U 17) championships in Patras. He won another bronze medal in 2001 in the Sarajevo Junior European Championships, but fell short of the powerful Russian Islam Timurziev.

Helenius was defeated by Janne Katajisto in the opening round of the super heavyweight division at the 2001 Finnish Amateur Boxing Championships. The next year Katajisto defeated Helenius.
