Pizarro is a versatile footballer who has played multiple positions. In Pachuca, he began his career as a right-back before progressing to become a highly versatile and dynamic midfielder, playing as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder, and eventually settling as a winger and attacking midfielder. During his time at Guadalajara, manager Matas Almeyda utilized him as a “goal poacher.”

In 2012, Rodolfo joined the senior Pachuca squad and played there until 2016, when he was traded to Guadalajara. After an eleven-year drought, he assisted the squad in winning the Liga MX, the Clausura 2017 Copa MX, and the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League there.

He assisted the team in winning the Liga MX and CONCACAF Champions League after relocating to Monterrey. He has represented Mexico at the Under-21, Under-23, and senior levels of national teams. At the 2016 Summer Olympics as well as the 2017 and 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cups, Rodolfo represented Mexico.
