Applications for the Ruth and Eber Pollard Scholarship in Canadian History are being accepted by the University of Guelph. International students can apply for the scholarships for the 2023–2024 school year.

The Department of History Undergraduate program is available to foreign students, permanent residents, and citizens of Canada. One $1,000 grant will be given to the successful candidate in the fall; however, the recipient must be enrolled to earn the reward.

In 1964, the University of Guelph was founded in Canada. Guelph is renowned for producing outstanding thinkers and involved citizens as well as for its brilliance in the arts and sciences. Our campuses are located in both rural and urban areas and are learner-centered and research-intensive.

Students can interact with persons of all ethnicities and backgrounds in the university setting. Additionally, the work-study program at the University of Guelph will help students advance their knowledge and gain experience in the workplace.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible Countries

Students from all countries, including Canada, are welcome to apply.

  • Eligible Subject or Course

The scholarship will be given for any university-offered undergraduate subject in the Department of History.

  • Eligible Requirements

To qualify, candidates must fulfill each of the following requirements:

  • Candidates may be either non-Canadian PR-PP or Canadian PR-PP.
  • The student who demonstrates a strong interest in Canadian history and who continues to participate in sports, fitness, or wellness.
  • Apply to the history department by May 15th, along with a two-page letter detailing your academic background in history and your continued dedication to fitness and wellness.
  • Students majoring in history who have completed at least 5.0 course credits and have a minimum cumulative program average of 80%.

How to Apply

  • Applicants must be accepted into the University’s undergraduate program. After that, candidates must submit an application to the history department by May 15th along with a letter (no more than two pages long) detailing their academic background in history and continued dedication to fitness and wellness.
  • Supporting Documents

Students must include their CV, proof of language proficiency (for candidates from outside the country), and contact details (phone, email, and address) with their application.

  • Admission requirements

To enroll in undergraduate programs at the institution, students must fulfill the prerequisites for foreign admission.

  • Language Requirement

Applicants must be proficient in English to be considered for the University of Guelph undergraduate programs.

Benefits

Ruth and Eber Pollard International Scholarship 2024 pays an amount of $10,500 which is paid over three semesters while the student is studying at the University of Guelph.
