The Sally Humphries and Leo Smits International Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity offered by the University of Guelph to support and aid students with financial problems. The academic year 2024–2025 will see its award.

For outstanding international students who enroll full-time in a graduate program at the University of Guelph in Canada, this grant is available. One $5,000 grant is given out each fall by the Scholarship.

In 1964, the University of Guelph was established in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. In a very adaptable model, it displays a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. Over five hundred postgraduate students from eighty-three different nations chose to finish their studies at the University of Guelph.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students from non-Canadian countries are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Subject or Course: The scholarship will be given for a graduate program at the university in any discipline.
  • Acceptable Standards: To qualify, candidates must fulfill each of the following requirements:
  • Candidates may be PR-PP non-Canadians.

The description of the statement of academic intent indicates that the selection process is based on the highest level of dedication to aiding vulnerable groups through past actions and community engagement as well as through future commitment.

Candidates who have worked in their native countries to better the lives of local families especially women and children will receive special consideration.

  • To enroll in a graduate program for the fall or winter semester after the application deadline, candidates must have submitted their admissions applications through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) by February 1.
  • Send your application to the CSAHS Awards Committee by May 15th, together with a one-page synopsis of your admissions “Statement of Academic Intent” and a letter detailing your experience working with underprivileged populations. You can email your application to [email protected].
  • Students from abroad (defined as those who pay the international tuition fee) with prior experience working with underprivileged populations who are enrolling in any full-time degree offered by the Ontario Agricultural College or the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences. The Master’s level students are given preference.

The benefits of the Sally Humphries and Leo Smits International Masters Scholarship include $5,000 to the successful applicant of the scholarship. This money can be used to fund various things like tuition and money for research.

How To Apply

Apply by May 15 to the CSAHS Awards Committee with a one-page synopsis of the entrance “Statement of Academic Intent” and a letter detailing prior experience serving underprivileged populations.
