Borealis AI is a research institute supported by the Royal Bank of Canada, dedicated to AI and machine learning. Borealis AI is pioneering machine learning science and developing cutting-edge financial services products. It is made up of top AI researchers and engineers who are driven by the goal of solving intelligence.

Deep learning, reinforcement learning, language processing, AI safety, and other fields are among the research areas that the institute conducts and has over 40 scientific papers in prestigious academic venues. Over 100 team members work at Borealis AI’s four labs in Canada, which were established in 2016.

About Borealis AI LM Research Internship Programme

Our objective is to make a positive impact on the varied, inclusive AI ecosystem of the future, where people’s lives are genuinely improved via their jobs. Research internships are generally available at all of Borealis AI’s Canadian labs.

Our internship program is now being conducted in a hybrid workplace. Research on a broad range of theoretical and practical machine-learning applications is supported by interns.

Eligibility Criteria

You will be qualified to be an Intern at the Borealis AI ML Research Programme if you meet the following requirements:

• The ability to apply innovative machine learning methods;
• Strong drive to address difficult research issues;
• A love of statistics, data, and algorithms;
• Obtaining a graduate degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline (such as physics, math, statistics, etc.)
• Previous publications presented at a prestigious ai conference;
• Familiarity with creating scalable, reliable, and modular python software
• Familiarity with bash programming and the Unix command line;
• Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras, among other deep learning programs;
• A thorough understanding of statistical modeling and/or machine learning algorithms.

Duration for Internship

The Internship opportunity will last from September 2024 to December 2024.
