His father was an immigrant from Italy, and both of his parents were teachers. He had his early education at the Steinert High School, where he actively participated in extracurricular activities with a focus on student politics and debate. He furthered at the Princeton University, where he received the highest grade in his class. Alito was a member of the Reserved officers’ training corps (ROTC) team while he was a student at Princeton. Alito expressed his future goals in a speech he gave after graduating from Princeton.
