It was with Atlético that he won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2018.
He made history as the most expensive Ghanaian player ever in 2020 when he transferred for £45 million (€50 million) to join Arsenal.
Partey, a Ghanaian who plays for his country, has participated in three Africa Cup of Nations (2017, 2019, and 2021). He was selected for the CAF Team of the
Year in 2018 and earned Ghana Player of the Year in both that and the following years.
Partey, came up through the young ranks of the neighborhood club Odometah.
After a brief stint with Leganés, he joined Atlético Madrid in 2012, and a year later was demoted to the reserves.
Partey was recalled to the starting lineup for the match against Real Sociedad on March 10, 2013. He did not play in the final 0-1 home loss nevertheless.
