Usher has been announced as the celebrity musician who is set to headline the Super Bowl 2024 halftime show.
Next year’s highly publicized show will be presented by Apple Music and will take place on February 11, 2024.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” the ‘Burn’ singer said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
He certainly has big shoes to fill as last year’s Super Bown halftime show’s headliner was Rihanna, who stole the show simply by revealing her second pregnancy during her performance.
Ahead of her confirmation as the headliner of the show, the singer sent the internet into overdrive after sharing a very cryptic post to social media, hinting at the major announcement. She shared a picture of her hand with an NFL football, teasing her fans who had been waiting for new music from her.
The rumor mill at the time went into hyperdrive over chatter that she would headline the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February 2023. Later, putting her fans out of their miseries, her label Roc Nation officially confirmed the singer’s participation through a statement released on September 25.
Later, Rihanna was praised for choosing not to bring out any guest performers during her show and instead just performing with the large cabal of dancers that she had alongside her.
