Vernon Winfrey is the father of Oprah Winfrey who is a renowned television personality at the time.

Her father Vernon was known to be a councilman and a local barbershop owner who passed away tragically on Friday as a result of being reported to have suffered from cancer for a while now. He died at the age of 88 with the family surrounding him at the time.

Oprah Winfrey herself together with some members of the family announced the passing away of a beautiful soul whose legacy will forever be remembered. She shared a heartfelt post on Instagram concerning the dad’s demise

“I had the sacred honour of witnessing the man responsible for my life, take his last breath,” she said. “We could feel Peace enter the room at his passing.”

Being the daughter of his father, Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi in the United States. She is known to be an American talk show host, a television personality, a writer and a supposed movie star.
