Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton couldn’t explain why the officer helped the escape, adding it wasn’t “the Vicky White we know.”
He told CNN, “Obviously there was a side to Vicky White that we weren’t aware of.”
“She has orchestrated this and exploited her system expertise to her advantage, making it extremely tough.”

Vicky White, a 56-year-old widow with no children, was last seen on April 29 at the county courthouse, where she claimed to be escorting her cousin Casey White for a mental health evaluation.
Authorities eventually determined that the inmate’s evaluation or hearing for that day had been canceled.
